Hi All, You mentioned that Ron was a "cousin"  - that is your best search tool - I think you need to actively search for the Grogans on a genealogical ;-) basis - lots of people try to help fill in family trees - and family history researchers are usually good at tracking any available records.  I cant do anything without a lot of specific info - names, dates towns relationships etc and of course I dont know what current UK records are available!  I found someone in the US - "sort of" family from my first husband - who had been adopted as a child.  Got my best info from finding the town she lived in and luckily her high school had a website.  I posted there and was contacted by people who knew her........  I found another (Shoosmith) cousin by contacting a genealogy researcher from his town in Wales - I found that researcher by writing to the towns newspaper and asking if they could post a notice saying I was doing genealogy research and looking for a cousin who had lived there - Paul, son of X and Y and giving my email address.  I had intended to paythe newspaper for the notice  if necessary but they didnt ask for anything.    Of course using those methods means we cant be talking about London!! ;-)  And even when you do reach a sister - your first contact can be that you are researching Mum's family - lots less threatening and believe it or not we family history "nuts" do research even second cousins, stepparents ancestors, in-laws ancestors................  But again - I need all the connections for me to even try to help!!   If the girls married in their home town would the "town hall" have records?  Does the UK post office give addresses when someone moves away?  My feeling is that any links to the town are your first contact - and  people who know the girls are more likely to answer if they dont know about the "sister" connection!                                                         Barb
