Re:RIP April 18th William-1918 Harriet-1928 Jamie-1984 Date Posted:04/18/2009 12:46 PMCopy HTML Unbelievable to have three deaths on the same day in April.
I'm not sure how many have seen the pictures of our grandfather on mum's side..William Wallis. He died when mum was 4 years old and the older pic of him was taken from a larger pic with a child (possibly Mum) For Wendy, Jason, Tam, Jess, Susan, Christine, Adrian, Marc and Harvey it is your Great Grandfather Ashley, Andrew, Amanda, Aaron, Christal, Matthew, John, Robyn, Luke he was your Great, Great Grandfather. Harriet was mum's (half) sister, daughter of Sarah (mum's mother) and Thomas Dudley (Sarah's second husband after William Wallis) Mum was 14 at the time and never got over her death.....Every baby was a 'reincarnation' of Harriet. Harriet died in India...(malaria?) and was only 15mths old. Jamie died when I was 7 months pregnant and was born 6 weeks later....He is buried in the babies section of Meadowvale cemetary (#208) When visiting a year or so before mum died she expressed she wanted to be buried as close to him as possible...At the time of her death, a plot became available about 10 yards away..... She is close to Harriet and Jamie now..... |

Re:RIP April 18th William-1918 Harriet-1928 Jamie-1984 Date Posted:04/18/2011 21:55 PMCopy HTML Yes Alex, mums father, sister and a grandson all died on this date.
One of the most difficult things I had to do was call mum from the hospital to tell her that Jamie had died. I tried to make that call so many times. She was staying with Edward and Thalia in England for a few months after Christmas but was home in time for the funeral which was just after he was born, 6 weeks later on May 30th. After he died, they tried to induce him every day for a week, but when that did not work I begged them to let me out of the hospital (I had been there for more than three weeks) so I could go to work. 6 weeks later I went with labour pains to the hospital....Len Fairclough was on Coronation Street, there was an eclipse and all of a sudden I needed to get back to the room...Not a nurse in sight! Brian searched and I managed (somehow) to get to the door and he was born a few minutes later. An autopsy showed he was normal. Was difficult waiting for Brian to pick me up from the entrance on the Friday....The hearse arrived to pick up his little body.....I prayed for Brian to arrive before they came back out with him. Thankfully he did. We had the burial on Monday and we left from there to go to Tilsonberg for a job that I started the next day. I was pretty weak to be graining double garage door and double front door but Brian helped with a lot of the prep work and I managed to finish it. My doctor 'knew' that the hospital had not treated me correctly and told me that in the fall he wanted to check what caused it but at Womens College hospital in Toronto. Before that happened I became pregnant with Tam. His words to me were..'If you were my wife I would want you to have your baby in WCH' which is what I did. I now have Tam and Jess...What more could I want!!?? :o) We still remember little Jamie. He will always be their 'big' brother. RIP little one. |
