Dad's mother Elizabeth Tindall was born Jan 9 1860 at 73, Southampton St Clerkenwell Middlesex England
Name of Elizabeth's mother Frances Tindal formerly Cookson
Father Thomas Tindal
(not known how many children)
Mrs J.H. Wagner - 1 sister as far as I know address in ? moved in 1888
Elizabeth married Alexander Taylor and thre were five girls 2 boys (an order of merit will be given at the end of writing)
Alexander had an artificial flower factory at Edmonton North London (more info on that later)
It was known that dads family had connections or some family in Scotland.
England and he was asked to contact some solicitor to hear something to his advantage but he never would.
He was brought up from early childhood by an aunt (or so called aunt) name not known (above) and at an early age joined the Navy and served as a boy second class from 23rd Oct 1877 to 17th April 1879. When he deserted, then he was recovered and served as a boy ordinary and able seaman from 10th May 1879 to 19th Jan 1890 and then discharged as time expired
Character was 'Good'
Of his two sons Leonard (not much known) he joined up the army in Australia First World War
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Barb discovered that Leonard did not die in the war....He lived in Australia (Brisbane) until 1970's Had 2 girls? and one of Barbs contacts visited the house he used to lie in. She also has the documents from his service which are totally fascinating (my copies were stolen) Dad always told me of the last time he saw Leonard (picture taken) in August 1916 before he went to France and I believe his records show that date as being in Britain and heading back to France at that time. I tried to contact the cemetary where Leonard was buried to find names of daughters but info could not be given without his service records..No computer and lack of phone prevented me going further but was able to tell dad that Leonard did not die as he thought... Albert Edward, youngest son spent part of his life on the high seas as cabin boy
Joined Northamptonshire regiment in 1919. (Blackbush Shorncliffe and Ireland) till 1927.
Left army and spent some time in Cambridge in carpentry until father came down and took him back to artificial flower factory as a seller.
Stopped there in Edmonton London til father died around 1932 ( a pact was made with old friend) for them both to commit suicide at a certain time of day. Friend did not coooperate but father Alexander went ahead with pact but he never knew about friend?

The Girls
Rose Eldest married a sgt in army (not known) by the name of Steve Shoosmith whose family resided in Cockfosters Herts England
No male is??? but 3 girls Marie Joan and Barbara

Poppy married Wilfred Sully who was a member of Salvation Army Band in Deal Kent. There were no children
Poppy worked a lot in private homes and hospital kitchens and at times Wilf helped out
Poppy died of a heart complaint in 1960 approx
Wilfred came to live with us at Ponders End when she died until his death araound 1963
He was bad with lungs and tuberculosis
I 'met' someone on the internet...her Grandfather owned Blake and Horlock Funeral parlour and it was her grandfather that came to our house when uncle Wilf died...I have always remembered ..tall redfaced jovial...she sent me a pic Margaret..She married Mac Williams and they were looking after a few pubs. The last one being the 'Alma' at Bexley Kent. Not much known about them. She died of cancer about (ALEX? camera date...lol)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It has come to my attention that a Mr Peppet who lived in Ponders End and we knew the family well, he was the son of Dads Mothers Sister.. so looking back in the Taylor Family Tree has not got many males in it Leonard was in the Calipally war with the turks 1914 then went to Fance and while there he saw an old pal by the name of 'Wyman' who lived in Ponders End
Stories were exchanged. Leonard heard that the Bristol troops did not have much to eat so he took Wyman up to the stores and loaded him with rations
Then shortly after Leonard was shot and was sent back to Australia where nothing more was heard of him. Presumably died of his wounds.
