Re:Lilly Pic Retouched Date Posted:03/10/2009 13:28 PMCopy HTML GREAT!!
I have just discovered something... When pics are posted in aimoo they dont have to be size changed to fit the post..aimoo does it automatically. They use two steps...once uploaded to the post from photobucket they are showing (for this pic) 750px width. Once posted that changes to 60px width Great for viewing but not good for Barb downloading and needing a good resolution. I have discovered a way (by changing HTML) of showing the pic full size in a post...It needs to be scrolled top and bottom on the post, but saves to computer full size. I'm trying to eliminate some of the emails that get very confusing, by posting pics on here that can be downloaded full size... I think I have done it! |

Re:Lilly Pic Retouched Date Posted:03/10/2009 13:30 PMCopy HTML Barb...can you leave a comment on here (in a reply or a quick reply at the bottom) to let me know if you can save the big pics ok?
If so, them I can eliminate sending emails and just post the bigger pics on here for you to download! |

Re:Lilly Pic Retouched Date Posted:03/10/2009 15:01 PMCopy HTML Liz,
First - great job retouching - of course you are an artist! The original from Alex - which I emailed to you was 1.18 MB (1200X1600) BOTH of the photos on the website (even though one shows as much larger) download at the same size - Lily retouched is at 132kb (768X1024) Of course some of that is the fact that you trimmed it a bit. For documents that works fine to reprint - for photos like the outing or this one, the bigger the better for resolution. Of course I am probably the only one who is "fussy" about that so you can just send the huge file to me by email! ;-) Not that I think we will find a LOT of wonderful old photos!! Barb |

Re:Lilly Pic Retouched Date Posted:03/10/2009 22:12 PMCopy HTML Thanks for replying Barb..
Yes...the pic I cut was not the original size...well...because I cut it...lol but it downloaded for me at the size I cut it to. (cant remember) Doing it that way (by changing the HTML) is not a particularly great idea in reality...lots of work... The BEST way is via Photobucket...Do you have an account Barb? Its a GREAT online photo 'storer' and you can do lots of other stuff but mainly it stores all your pics online in the original size and you can download them to a post really easily. When I want to post one or two pics...I click on the Photobucket icon...(which opens a little window) I browse for my pic...Click UPLOAD and then INSERT to post... On a good PC takes a few seconds. The pics are automatically resized for posting by aimoo. What I am going to do is open a 'shared' Photobucket account for all of us to use... Once you open the photobucket icon, add the name and password (I will provide)...you wont have to add that info any more... You will browse for the pic on your pc...upload to the little photobucket window and then insert to the post. For any of us that want the real sized pic...we can click on the pic in the little window and a new page of Photobucket will open up with the full sized pic which can be downloaded. ...copied and pasted ANYWHERE...(emails, posts, etc) or the code is there for HTML and BB code etc... You can easily click on all of the pics...copy the code and add to anywhaere as thumnails or full size pics. Its a great service and you not only can access your pics from anywhere...make lots of different styles of slideshows...add frames etc etc...you also have a backup of your pics should your PC crash or you change PC's.. I love it and I think a shared account would give us all easy access to all the full sized pics. As I have said, though...if you are not comfortable with that then please do what you are comfortable doing. A lot of this can be quite overwhelming at the start... I have set up several of these sites and it even took ME a while to get the feel of them.. Once it clicks its a great form of conversing and saving files and reference stuff. |
