Date Posted:09/26/2010 00:36 AMCopy HTML Music, as you know, has been one of the most important things to me.
With the help of Youtube, I am able to 'relive' my memories of music. Probably one of the first things I remenber is Sunday dinerr (at midday) when we would sit down to Sunday dinner and listen to Family Favourites...Mostly dedicated to troops abroad... One of the most played singers was Johnny Matthis...Here he is singing one of Nanas favoutrite songs... |

Re:For Tam and Jess - A musical Journey Date Posted:01/01/2011 02:37 AMCopy HTML Tam has told me she has been downloading some of these songs to her...ipod or mp3...lol (not sure)
I have renewed interest to post more of the songs that have been 'important' in my life.... When I left Jerry... (great bloke) Jerrys song. . . Inspiration. . . I remember the first time your dad sang this... . This was the song he often sang to me....(Embedding disabled) Country songs had a story to them (usually...lol) These are the songs your dad often sang. Re:For Tam and Jess - A musical Journey Date Posted:01/23/2011 03:24 AMCopy HTML 1965 - (Just before I met Jerry) I met Carlo Carltebellotta a cadet on the tall sailing ship Amerigo Vespucci.
All he could say in English was '1..2..3..4...5.6.. ..7....I love you .....kiss me! This song was in the charts at the time so obviously reminds me of him. I still have some of his letters and one of my customers a few years ago translated them for me. Apparently he wanted me to meet his mother! (she wanted to help me locate him 40 years later! lol) 1964 Reminds me of Laurie Slade at the youth club Portsmouth! Reminds me of Barry Ring...the best looking bloke at the youth club in Ponders End...Surfing look, tall and ...Ohhh he was lovely! It was when Surf ity tshirts and hush puppies were the 'in' thing! First LP I bought was 'Shut Down Volume 2 even though I didn't have a record player! SAME FOR MY FIRST 'SINGLE...Herman...My PASH!!! Once over 'Adam Faith' I was in love with Herman! Another of my favourite instrumentals of early 60's the Shadows (Cliff Richards group) |
