Email messages are hard to keep track of so I am listing them here..

Please feel free to add instead of using email!

Continue to use email if thats easier...

I will add the email message and pics in thumbnail size and link to the thread I have added them to so the pics can be viewed full size (aimoo size)

Hi Barb...

Just hoping that you are the Barb I think you may be!

Lost all contact, been searching for a while so fingers crossed!

Hi Liz

Of course I am the right Barb - how did you find us??  I guess I changed our email address since we were last in touch!!

What is new with you and family?  We talked about your coming for a visit - is this the year???   B

Subject: Re: Hi Barb!

I took only a few pics yesterday and this was one of them...Is it you?

From Barb

No, This is my Cousin RoseMarie Vessio and her brother Richard!  Great picture though!  They are the children of Joan (my mothers sister)  Joan died sometime ago and we never had a lot of contact with
them, but probably should try to get in touch again.

Included Anne in this since she has email!   Never met any of you but would love to.

I scan whatever I can get hold of like a madwoman - try for high resolution but it is easier to see details, especially on the old photos.  Unless you already have it - I thought you would like this photo of Alexander Taylor and Elizabeth Tindall Taylor (your grandparents!)

So glad to have reconnected.  The website you found me on is one a friend and I did for our town (history and genealogy)               Barb

Ohhh Thanks so much for that!! (I have to say it looks like dad with a hat on!)

I have sent it to Ed and Alex.

Apparently I think Harvey was doing some Taylor stuff

So...How far have you come in doing it?

What are you looking for now?

I have had much of my stuff 'stolen' during the many moves and housefires and car thefts (including those tiny tapes) but I do still have a lot of documents around.

I will get a scanner...I just decided yesterday to start saving them via photos for now.

Probably good for now if I just send the emails on to Alex and Ed as opposed to you having all our addies and different info back to each person...Would be nice to keep it all in one place...but I'm sure it would be OK to give it to you if you wanted it.

Heres a few pics of my two...Jesse is 22 (and his girlfriend Ashley) and Tamara is 23

From Barb
Thanks for the photos - but what does the caption on your photo mean????  ;-)

It is fine for you to be the conduit for info and photos (especially if Alex is  worried about security) - I sent to Ann because you sent her email address and since she is new to the internet I thought it might be good for her to see how easily you can connect with people and get and send things that way.

If Harvey is doing any family history please give him my email address - I have tons of stuff from researching LDS microfilms as well as what is online - it would be a shame for him to spend time on what I have already found (and vice versa)  I have a subscription to Ancestry.com which has a lot of information.

I had finally found Alexander's mother (since he was born in Peru I had wondered if his mother was South American but she is English) - Alexander's father Alexander was born in Scotland - I have been unable to track his ancesters.   Alexander's mother was Sarah Austin, born in Hampton, Middlesex.  She had 8 siblings and I have tracked many of them.

Re photos - as I said, I have a really good scanner (can even scan negatives and slides) and I enjoy making good copies of photos, to be able to share them and especially to save them!  If you would like to send me a packet of photos I would love to be able to scan them for you and can send them back quickly with both good copies and a CD with all the photos.  One of our big projects for our town has been to borrow old photo albums and scan and copy all the pictures (many from the 1800s - some on daguerrotypes or tintypes)   I am cheaper than buying a scanner and have become very proficient at getting the best out of very old photos.    So consider it.    What kind of documents do you have - anything really old????

With that.........here is the photo of the day (I dont have many Taylor photos, but this is especially nice)
Taken in about 1916 when Leonard was home from Australia - you may remember that my mother had said they all believed that Leonard had died in the war when he went back to Australia after this photo - but I found information that he had lived there until 1973.

This photo is - Left to right - Front Row - Leonard, "Mother" (Elizabeth) "Dad" (Alexander) Rose (my grandmother) and Steve (Shoosmith - my grandfather)   Back Row - Margaret, Ted and Poppy.

I can see a resemblance between Ted as a teen and his father - especially around the eyes.

                                                                                                  Barb

PS  Tell Harvey I am anxious to hear from him (he is my daughter's age) and I do need updated information (have "Valerie" as Doble) ??

Ohh Barb...That picture is amazing...

I have taken a portrait of dad from it and, just as you said...the resolution is great!

One story that dad often told was about the last time he saw Leonard...

He spoke about being 14 and, as I recall it was August.

He remembered being very upset about him leaving....and that was the last time he saw him

Thanks to you I was able to tell him (before he died) that Leonard had continued to live in Australia (Brisbane).

I had tried to contact the cemetary that he was buried in, but I was unable to get any personal information from them..I wanted to find out the details of (as I recall) his daughter that may have been on  the grave registration...

At that point I lost contact with searching and dad died shortly after...I would have loved to have found his niece(s) to have given us more information about him that dad would have loved.

You sent me a copy of Rose's bio..Many times I read that...absolutely fascinating. I may (and hope) still have  the copy you sent...though until I check through everything I have I won't know if it succumbed to 'loss' along with other stuff I cherished.

I also had the copies of Leonard's papers from the forces and the documents of him trying to locate the 'medal' that was lost in the flood.

I remember you telling me that your internet friend lived in Brisbane, close to the house Leonard lived in and visited it to give you a description...

As afar as the documents I have...

Many pics of dad, and of course mum from most timeframes.

I am a packrat...so I still have my NHS card and ration card

I have mum and dads marriage certificate as well as a letter from the registrar to mum and dad about my wedding in 1969..though those documents would be what mum had saved.

At a guess I would say I have at least 20 or so old documents etc..probably more...Dad insurance papers...his application to the forces...(1918 I think) You name it...mum saved it and I still have it! (hopefully)...lots of old letters..etc etc. Some of course is related to mum's side of the family.

I would love to help add info for future generations to see...as well as the current fascination it holds for me..

Thank you so much for your enthusiasm in doing this so we may all see the results of your hard work..

BTW...The pic of me was named quickly as a portrait from a photo of me stirring a pot at a barbecue we attended...TMy pics have some weird titles...but I know what they mean..

I will include the original pic...

Also a pic of my wedding which happens to be handy...The Tullett's wedding June 28th 1969 (Jerry's 21st birthday)

left to right...
Jerry's brother Nicky..His brother Julian, His Gran..His Dad Ern , his mum Rene...his brother Rod.. My sister's daughter Christine...Jerry...Me...My sister's other daughter Susan....Mum....Dad..Terry my best friend..Ken Doble..Anne holding Adrian...Harvey (page boy)..Edward...Joan....Alex

While I'm at it...here is the letter from the registrar as well.....lol

I will try to resist temptation to send your our dinner menu from our Butlins holiday in 1963...lol ;o)

From Barb
Hi Liz,

I guess I sent you all I have about Leonard then - I forgot you were going to contact the cemetery.  I still may follow up on that one day.  So if I repeat things I have already told you - let me know.  I guess I didnt send these photos though?? Or did I?

Love the photo of you - "toil and trouble".......what was in that cauldron anyway???  (Our barbecues usually include a grill)   ;-)

I really liked the wedding photo - nice to see lots of faces to go with names (though I imagine most have changed a bit since then) ;-)  Do you and your siblings get together very often?

When I scan, the copy is usually 2-4 megabytes (unless it is a tiny photo).  Then I make smaller copies (like I did with the 1916 one) to send via email.  But usually I can print a full page print of many scanned ones and have them come out pretty nice (depending on the original of course)

So what is new with you - are you still painting?                 B

Wow...Amazing to get these pics eh?

From Alex

Liz,
Yes great picture, possibly the other guy may of been the one that they went out drinking with a lot.
Alexander had a bet, that they would kill themselves, he put his head in the oven, and turned the gas on? Alexander went through with it, but his mate dit not.
Am only going by what dad told me. I think he said he was drunk at the time.
Remember also, that he used to be hard on Elizabeth when he came in from drinking down the pub?

I think Ed has the large picture of when he rented a bus, to take his workers out on a picknick?

Thanks
Alex

Hi Liz,
Thanks for the old pics.
I was going through some of my old files, and found some history stuff that mum wrote about dad, also some about the Wallis family. I know you said that Barb and Tony were trying to put together a family history perhaps they may be interested in the info i have?
Who has dads birth certificate, do you have it Ed? Pobably Ed has some info also that we do not have.

How far have you got with the History Barb, have you just started with it.?

Anyway folks keep me posted.
Thanks

Sorry Alex...Been chatting with Anne on the phone while you have been posting up a storm!...lol

Pam is lovely and she doesnt need to feel intimidated in any way....She is an important part of my life and friendship and thats what I want this to be....

Although its basically descendants of Alexander and Elizabeth I see the bigger picture of husbands/wives and their families being part of this AND friends...

Brenda and Linda are on my agenda to try to get in touch with this weeken...They were our old neighbours and Brendaq contacted me just recently...

I want to see pictures of everyone and their families because I am realising that we have a great opportunity to get to know so many people that are connected to the family and EVERYONE is welcome...

We are just starting right now...but watch out!

Alex...You know I love garage sales and other peoples 'throw outs' but 5 years old is not a throw out!....Thats special!...I have stuff of course but most of it could do with upgrading...but that will come in time...but fill your car up Alex! lol Thanks so much...you know I appreciate that kind of thing!

My current 'posh' TV was $14.99...but it works....I cant imagine how exciting a bigger screen would be...

I cant see it from where I sit so I have a little 9" portable on my computer desk...Its handy while  I am waiting for pages to load...lol

So you know where to go...Get to Chinguacousy Park....Central Park Drive...Right opposite the ski hill is a crescent..Hilldale....(2 entrances opposite  either side of the hill just west of Bramalea Rd...)...Go to the top of the crescent and its the only road right next to the school on the 'south' side of the Crescent...Turn on Hyde Park and then Right onto Hapsburg...Go to the end...

Heres the house...

Liz, I got a kick out of the info you put about me on the world site,"The world Knows Now"

I dont mind, could not read it all because it does not fit the page. (ABOUT RUNNING ON THE SPOT ETC?)

However, this is going to put me in bad standing with Joan for next year, I planned on picking up at drive through, and bringing the order home, as she likes surprises. I will probably suggest Tim Hortons next year, as she really likes the new chicken wrap, She is not keen on the breaded wraps at Mc Donalds, now that she has tasted Timmies. Added bonus the coffee is better. But this might all fall through if she finds out what your mates have said now. Joan Know's how to stick handle me, if the going gets rough? So i have to be diplomatic, and not be too bossy. I have to test the waters first.
Joan enjoys a nice cup of tea in bed in the mornings, I do this willingly, as i know she appreciates it, and i score many points, for future requests.
Thanks Alx

Haaa Alex...glad you liked it...

Anne spotted it because she is a meber of that forum...so let me know if you want to join...its fairly active and they are great people.

I tried to change the thread so it 'fits' but the code is weird and what you see when you are posting it is now what it appears like when its finally poseted...

If you go to the bottom of each message that has stretched you will see a scroll bar similar to the vertical one ...you can use that to scroll horizontally.

Deja,
Welcome, looks like you have a good talent, is this something that is easy to do, or you know how to maipulate a program.Either way looks good. If you can find an image with a firefighter doing first aid, like a paramedic. that would be very acceptable. You did a great job with Liz.
Thanks Alex.
ps. can we get an image of yourself, in a special body.

Liz,
Unfortunetly i wont join the forum, sounds good, but Joan has got me doing so many chores that i dont get time to do even my jobs. She has got a list that gets one job completed, then i see two more. After i take her tea in bed in the morning, i am working overtime to get all these jobs done, i rush sometimes, after her inspection when i try to get a sign off, she informs me that it did not meet expectation and it is odgy bodgy. So i am paddling water most the time. Then it is a warranty repair. So you can see i do not have a lot of free time.
Thanks for the invite. Alx

Is it in uk time if Rainbow leaves a message, and Canadian time plus if i leave a message. Please advise. tHANKS Alex

Liz,
I would like you to remove the year that we were born from the pictures and info. I have no issue with the family knowing my year/date of birth, but i do not want to give outsiders, or oppertunists any info that would contribute to us being vunerable to targets of identity theft. This is a growing business, and i see no benefit of advertising this valuable information. (I have been to meetings about this subject, that is why i am cautious.) Once we are dead, it will be ok. Please remove dates for Joan, Harvey Marc and myself. I know you advised that this is a safe site, if a hacker wanted in, they could find a way.
I still think you are doing a great job with this site, and keep up the good work, I know it is not easy putting all this stuff together.
Have a great day

I didn't create the YouTube song Alex....My attempt was for Matthews birthday...A pretty sad attempt and couldn't figure out the sound so had to add a separate juke box...

But...given time...i will figure it out...Maybe in the winter, cos for now I enjoy sitting in the garden.

Tam still hasn't made it over for her party...maybe next week.

Thanks for driving Anne down to see me...Christne picked her up OK (well nearly...they got lost within a 10 yard stretch of road, but thats another story...lol)

Thank goodness the weather is improving...been a pretty rotten July...I love it hot and sticky and we have had nothing but rain or threat of rain...so this long weekend I'm planning on watching all my plants grow...

Hope you have fun too!

Hi Barb,
I have not forgotten you about the poem book copies, Joan has got me doing so many jobs, i doubt i will finish in 2011, however i am working on my Time ANd Territory Management Skills, together with some stick handeling and some good planning, and hopefully will get the assignment done before then. It makes me feel a bit humble that i cannot meet the commitment, but it is definetly in the plan.
You all have a great christmas, and Carolyn is going to work on winning the Lottery.
