Department of the Accountant General of the Navy ___________________________ No.9 N.P.6175/S.G. ADMIRALTY, S.W. 4 August 1914. Mr. Alexander Taylor (late O.N. 102334 With reference to your personal application, I have to aquaint you that a fresh Certificate of your Services cannot be granted; but, necessary information as to your Service and Character would be supplied to any person wishing to employ you, on his applying to thei Department. It may be added , however, that you served as a Boy 2nd. class and Boys class, from the 23rd. October 1877 to the 17th April 1879, when you deserted. You were recovered, and served as a Boy, Ordinary and Able Seaman, from the 10th May 1879 to the 19th January 1890, when you were discharged to shore, time expired.
